Robin Williams (1951-2014) was an actor and comedian who was also a creative genius, and able to put a smile on even the saddest of faces within moments of meeting them!
Regarding his height, he would generally blend into the crowd in movies, however, nearing the end of his career, he did sometimes appear at the lower end of average, and he had clearly suffered some height loss due to the natural aging process.

After investigating Robin William's height claims, and comparing him to celebrities in both his early and later years, I conclude that during his prime he stood at 5'7.25" (170.8 cm) tall, and in later years he stood nearer 5'6.5" (168.9 cm) tall.
Autopsy Report
Similar to other celebs whose autopsy reports have inaccurate heights, Robin's autopsy report documents his height as 5'08", and weight as 166lbs (1). However, Robin was 63 here and wasn't near his peak height, so this measurement is questionable. Also, due to potential inaccuracies such as the possibility of rounding up or down the measurement, this cannot be taken as his real height.
Height Claims
Robin has claimed 5'8" throughout the earlier times in his career, and also 5'7" and 5'6" at later stages.
One example of a height claim is referenced in a book biography of Robin (2) and on page 156, in relation to the huge billboards and posters on Sunset Boulevard that "elevated the stars featured in them to the status of gods", Robin states:
"They're fifty feet tall and I'm only five foot eight", and "I'm nothing". (2)
Regarding this specific claim, at this point in his career, he would easily measure over this height in shoes, so in my opinion, this is fairly honest.
Next to Celebs in Early Years
Let's compare Robin's height next to some of his co-stars in both earlier years and later years to gain a fuller understanding of how tall he really was.
Billy Crystal 5'6" (167.6 cm)
Becoming great friends through the stand-up comedy circuit, they were frequently pictured standing together throughout their earlier years, such as at Comic Relief VI, where there is a clear 1.25 inch difference between them in height. This difference carries itself over the majority of pics in earlier years.
So when standing next to Billy, this puts Robin at 5'7.25" tall.
Christopher Reeves 6'3.5" (191.8 cm)
Williams and Reeves were best friends and once roommates in college while they were both hunting for acting roles, and there is a plentiful amount of photos of them together for height comparison.
Robin holds up well next to Reeves, and when pictured together at numerous events such as award ceremonies, there consistently seems to be around an 8 inch difference in height.
This puts Robin at 5'7.5" tall when compared to Reeves.

Height Loss
Naturally, as we age height loss occurs, and Robin seemed slightly shorter in his late 50's and early 60's than he did during his 30's and 40's. So, with this in mind, let's take a closer look.
Ricky Gervais 5'7.5" (171.5 cm)
Working together on the Night at the Museum movies. Height-wise, when pictured at the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) film premiere, and also in other photos of them together, Gervais has a clear 1-inch height advantage.
So next to Gervais, this puts Robin's height at 5'6.5".
Elijah Wood 5'5" (165.1 cm)
When pictured together at events such as the Happy Feet 2 (2011) premier, there is a clear 1.5" difference in height between them. However, at other events such as the "Disco Visit MTVs", the difference is closer to an inch in height.
So, Robin appears to be standing at 5'6-5'6.5" tall in his later years when next to Elijah.
So, next to celebs in earlier years Robin's height looks to be between 5'7.25-5'7.5", and in later years he appears to have lost around 0.75"-1" of height, and he looks closer to 5'6.5" in height.
To Conclude
In his earlier years, I believe Robin Williams stood at 5'7.25" tall. However, in his later years he lost some height and he stood closer to 5'6.5" tall.
