There have also been some very tall Vice Presidents towering above the President, and also First Ladies, with one being taller than her President!

- There have been 31 elections from 1904-2020, and in 21 of them, the elected candidate was taller, with an average of 1.2 inches.
- Comparing the tallest President Abraham Lincoln's height of 6'4" to the shortest President, James Madison at 5'4", there is a 12 inch/1 foot difference in height.
Vice Presidents
- The average height for a Vice President is 5'10.8 (179.8 cm) which is the same height as the average President, and this is comparing 45 President heights to 29 Vice Presidents.
- Out of the 29 Vice President heights that I could find, 16 have been shorter than the President, and 13 are taller.
- The Tallest Vice President was Lyndon Johnson who was 6'3" (190.5 cm) which was 3 inches taller than President JFK. The shortest is Kamala Harris who is 5'3.5" (161.3 cm) which is 8.75 inches shorter than President Joe Biden.
