Brad Pitt is one of the most famous men in the world and needs no introduction here.
Regarding his height, he often looks above average on screen, and rarely, if ever, short. Due to his slender frame, it is easy to think that he is taller than he really is, and as you will see below, people often believe he is in excess of 6 feet tall.
But what's his real height? Well, let's answer this question by investigating what others say about him, and also by comparing him to other celebs in film and at premiers!
What's His Real Height?
Brad Pitt wakes up in the morning comfortably clearing 5'11" tall, then dropping down to 5'10.75" throughout the majority of the day, and by night time, he will be standing somewhere around 5'10.5".
Therefore on this page, I will list his height as 5'10.75" (179.7cm) tall.
I have not found any picture or video footage of a height claim from Brad. He has apparently claimed heights of both 5'10" as a model and 5'11" as an actor, which is perfectly reasonable, but I cannot find the sources to back up these claims.
What Others Say
George Clooney once commented that he has one bone to pick with Brad:
"He's tall. He's like 6-1. It's irritating." and at 5'11" Clooney feels like "the little guy." (1)
This is far from the truth, and Brad is only 0.25 inches taller than George! However, this it does bring up the topic of lifted shoes, as sometimes Brad appears oddly taller than Clooney, and others he appears almost the same height!
Height Mentioned on Good Morning Britain
On an episode of Good Morning Britain, when a guest was discussing meeting Brad in person, his height was mentioned, and in comparison to the movies it was said that:
"he is ever so much taller in real life"
Then after researching his real height as 5'11" (Google listing), they were shocked, saying:
"he seemed a lot taller, right?"
"I hazard there were Cuban lifts involved"
"it's an optical illusion"
Again, this falls in line with 'special' footwear being used to help Brad look taller.
Brad's Movies and His Height
Interview With a Vampire (1994)
Starring both Tom Cruise and Brad Putt, they had friction on set, and in relation to the underlying tension and competition between them, "Cruise reportedly wore lifts in his shoes so he could be nearer to the height of his six - foot costar" (2)
The Mexican (2001)
In the movie The Mexican, Brad's character 'Jerry Welbach' was listed at 6'1" on a passport application form.
Fight Club (1999)
In Fight Club, Brad's character Tyler Durden was listed as 5'11" tall.
Compared to Other Celebs
In line with the comments above, and similar to celebs, Brad sometimes looks suspiciously taller than he should next to other celebs, and It is quite reasonable to assume he has some help to look taller from his footwear at certain events.
However, I have chosen comparison pictures where he is clearly wearing 'normal' looking shoes.
Posture & Slim Frame
Brad has a slim, athletic physique, and impeccable posture, regularly standing at his tallest next to celebs who are slouching a bit. As a result, this will add half an inch of height and make him appear taller when next to them.
Possible Height Loss
Brad is in his late 50's now, and this is the age range that a notable height loss usually starts to show. However, in typical Brad fashion, he hasn't lost a notable amount of height as of 2022 (over 0.25 of an inch), and is doing very well for his age.
Edward Norton 6'0" (182.9 cm)
Starring together in the film Fight Club (1999), Brad had some large footwear in that movie, yet Ed still edged him slightly. However, in the behind-the-scenes footage, Norton looks comfortably an inch taller. The same difference carries itself over to the Guys Choice Awards (2009) when they were on stage together.
Therefore, with Norton, Brad looks to be 5'11" tall.
George Clooney 5'10.5" (179.1 cm)
Starring in 5 films together, including Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen (2001-2007), and Burn After Reading (2008), there are many pics of Brad and George together throughout the years.
They regularly appear close in height, with Brad appearing between 0.25-0.5" taller the majority of the time, such as the Cannes film festival premiere of Burn After Reading, or the Ocean's film premiers.
Therefore, compared to George, Brad looks to be between 5'10.75" and 5'11" tall.
Matt Damon 5'9.5" (176.5 cm)
Also Starring together in Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen (2001-2007) and 5 other films including Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), there are many pictures of Brad and Matt together at various film premiers and events.
Brad is always the taller of the pair, and the majority of the time there is a solid 1.5 inch difference of height between them, such as at the Ocean's film premiers throughout the years.
Therefore with Damon, Brad appears to be 5'11" tall.
Leonardo DiCaprio 5'11.25" (181 cm)
Leo and Brad are good friends, and also star together in the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), there are many pictures between them for height comparison.
At the Golden Globes (2020) Leo looked to be 0.5-0.75 inches taller. At the Cannes film festival 2020 the difference is closer to 0.5 inches. This height difference carries itself over to other pics and videos as well.
So, when next to Leo, Brad appears to be between 5'10.5"-5'10.75" tall.
Overall, when compared to other celebrities Brad appears between 5'10.5"-5'11" tall.
The Bottom Line
Brad Pitt's height tends to go up and down, and it is hard to pinpoint his exact height range.
Yet, after investigating his height claims and also how he appears next to other celebs, it becomes clear that he falls into a height range where he can both look over 6 feet tall with thicker heeled/lifted shoes, or closer to average height when wearing 'normal' footwear.
This height is 5'10.75" (179.7cm), which I will list him at on this page.
