After entering his 60s Bill appears to have lost a slight amount of height, by around 0.25-0.5 inches. This is perfectly normal for a man of his age.
Elon Musk 6'1.5" (186.7 cm)
When Bill met Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla Motors) at a conference in 2015 and when standing next to each other talking, Elon is comfortably taller than Bill, with a 4 inch difference in height between them.
So when compared to Elon, Bill appears to be 5'9.5" tall.
Mark Zuckerberg 5'7.5" (171.5 cm)
When Bill and Mark Zuckerberg met at a Harvard Commencement in 2017 there was a comfortable 2 inch height difference between them.
Therefore, with Mark, Bill appears to be around 5'9.5" tall.
The Results - Bill appears around a quarter to half an inch shorter today into his late 60s than he was during his youth, which is a perfectly normal height loss for someone of his age.
Height VS Parents
Bill Gates is another example of his parents height being in a different range to his. Bill's father, Bill Gates Sr. (1925-2020) was 6 feet 7 tall, and looked giant like in some photos! His mother, Mary Maxwell Gates (1929-1994) was slightly over average height, standing closer to 5 feet 6 inches tall.
If we use a height calculator to predict Bill's adult height based on his parents' height, it comes out as 6'3"! I guess in this sense, average genes prevailed!
